Installs, services, and repairs heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems, and related environmental-control systems utilizing knowledge of heating and refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and structural layout. Checks and services all HVAC/R machinery and kitchen equipment to ensure proper function and efficiency.

• HVAC/R, installing and troubleshooting repairing, rebuilding commercial HVAC equipment and refrigeration systems.
• Clean, adjust, repair at a level of advanced Tech under the supervision of supervisory staff.
• Understanding of advanced principles of freon, refrigeration and heating concepts.
• Maintaining, repairing, and trouble shooting electrical systems and controls up to 480 volt/AC, including motors, controls, magnetic starters, variable frequency drives, transformers, relays, circuit breakers, and DDC components.
• Intent to advance to a higher level through continuing education in the field of HVAC/R.
• Maintains, adjust and makes minor repairs to escalator and elevator systems.
• Keeps daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
• Has a working knowledge of boiler systems.
• Opens valves on equipment such as compressors, pumps, and condensers to prepare system for operation and starts equipment and auxiliary machinery.
• Observes temperature, pressure and ampere readings for system and equipment and adjusts controls or overrides automatic controls to obtain specified operation of equipment.
• Records temperature, pressure, and other readings on log sheet at specified intervals.
• Measure density of brine and adds calcium chloride to lower temperature to specified degree.
• Connects hose from supply tank to compressor to replace coolant.
• Makes periodic inspection of equipment and systems to observe operating condition and need for repair and adjustment.
• Adjusts controls to isolate and clear  broken lines for repair or shut down equipment.
• Repacks pumps and compressors, cleans condensers, and replaces worn or defective parts.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

Three to five year journey level experience in all phases of HVAC/R work, including elevator and escalator exposure with minimal maintenance ability on these systems. May substitute two years college for experience. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Able to obtain & maintain a Jackson Rancheria Gaming License
• Class C driver license required - Must be vehicle insurable through Jackson Rancheria’s Agent
• Professional license an added plus in consideration of position.
• Possession of a universal Freon recovery license required.

Pay range: $28.00 - $36.40 per hour

 *Shift Differential: Non-Exempt employees will receive a $1.00 per hour shift differential for any hours worked between 10:00pm and 6:00am.
