The Legal Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to in house Legal Counsel.
• Receives and reviews contracts and legal documents to ensure completeness prior to forwarding for legal review.
• Requests revisions to contract language per legal recommendations.
• Prepares final contract documents for signature and routes final copies appropriately.
• Files and maintains record of final copies and the related attorney correspondence.
• Assists with and responds to records requests and subpoenas as advised.
• Handles all submissions of new service providers and tracks and renews approved service providers.
• Handles the maintenance/record keeping of service provider certificate of insurance documents required by approved contracts.
• Contributes to increasing efficiency and development of processes and procedures.
• Provides administrative support to the Legal Counsel -
o Intakes information and routes appropriately and obtains requested information.
o Takes and transcribes dictation, and composes and prepares confidential correspondence, memos, and other documents.
o Fills out all applicable forms as directed.
o May create and maintain database and spreadsheet files.
o Files and maintains documents.
o Prepares outgoing mail; distribute incoming mail.
o Conduct legal research and or analysis when needed.
o Prepare confidential and sensitive documents.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• High School level education required and Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Prior experience or educational background in the areas of contract administration or legal administrative support preferred.
Pay range: $46,200.00 - $60,000.00 per year
*Shift Differential: Non-Exempt employees will receive a $1.00 per hour shift differential for any hours worked between 10:00pm and 6:00am.
This is not a smoke free workplace. Although we employ state-of-the-art air filtration systems, cigarette smoke is in the work environment.
