  • Overview

    The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the coordination of all banquet and catering functions for JRCR. They will uphold all standards, values, while meeting or exceeding expectations. Ensuring extraordinary customer services to both internal and external guests in a manner where all are treated with integrity and respect. They will respond to daily duties, special situations, urgent requests and assist in the facilitation of requests either through completion or efficient follow up with management.

    Responsibilities

    • Advise and recommend to clients menu selections, audio visual coordination and room set-up.
    • Confirms with client the information supplied by the Sales person and reiterates in contract all specified details concerning event.
    • Meets clients on premises to discuss their requirements
    • To act as a liaison between the client and the hotel, performing some basic sales and detailing of banquets.
    • Maintains all graphic and facility work orders in conjunction with events
    • Participates in site familiarization tours and completes special projects as required.
    • Collect, organize, copy, and distribute banquet event orders (BEO) and group resumes.
    • Maintain inventory for Catering Sales Kit, Wedding Packages, banquet Menus and all collateral material.
    • Inventories, orders and maintains sufficient levels in small wares and supplies needed for upcoming events
    • Assists Banquet Manager as on-site contact for multiple events.
    • Has knowledge of all food and beverage health codes, and makes safety first priority. Ensures that all areas are kept clean and free of any potential hazards.
    • Maintains the Banquet and Event Calendar.
    • Assists in daily office operations as required.
    • Assists Banquet Manager in Post-Forma, Pre-Forma, and Reports.
    • Generate Food & Beverage Revenue Report for the Banquet Manager on a monthly basis.
    • Assists Banquet Manager in training of new employees.
    • Implement and enforce department policies and rules on a daily basis.
    • Initiate, enforce and maintain the corrective counseling process.
    • Assign and monitor daily tasks and complete all necessary paperwork.
    • Prioritize tasks and responsibilities according to staffing and facility needs.
    • Provides team members with performance feedback and recognition.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

     

    • Must have a basic knowledge of banquet operations, finance and contractual agreements.
    • Good written and oral communication, excellent time management and listening skills and able to work with limited support.
    • Must be self-motivated and sales oriented with strong customer service orientation.
    • Exceptional detail in follow up, able to resolve problems effectively and assume responsibility/accountability.
    • Must possess strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; Visual One or Meeting Matrix experience preferred.
    • Ability to obtain / renew all required licenses or certification specifically Tribal Gaming License.
    • Must be able to thrive in fast-paced environment
    • Weekend, evening, and holiday hours required, shifts vary

     

    *Shift Differential: Non-Exempt employees will receive a $1.00 per hour shift differential for any hours worked between 10:00pm and 6:00am.

     

    This is not a smoke free workplace.  Although we employ state-of-the-art air filtration systems, cigarette smoke is in the work environment.
