Overview

Installation and repairs of Electrical Distribution Systems, Lighting Systems, Electrical components and equipment by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

  • Installation of Electrical Distribution system from Primary to Secondary, to include wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as HVAC equipment, lighting panel boards, distribution panel boards, and lighting controls as well as HVAC controls.
  • Knowledge of primary 480/277 3 phase distribution system; secondary 208/120 3 phase distribution system. 
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables. 
  • Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers, such as HVAC Personnel, Maintenance Personnel, and W.T.P. Personnel to diagnose malfunction. 
  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices. 
  • Able to read and understand drawings or Building and Electrical Plans for layout and work to be performed.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to read and understand Electrical and Architectural construction prints
  • A working knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
  • Ability to work energized circuitry safely.
  • Knowledge of and ability to safely use power hand tools as well as electrical testing equipment.
  • High school diploma and/or formal training in the electrical trade with 3 years at journeyman level experience.

 LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must have excellent English reading, writing and speaking skills.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide for the understanding and use of ohms law.

 

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to make decisions under stressful conditions, as to not endanger the safety of others or violate the N.E.C. and O.S.H.S. Standards.

 

*Shift Differential: Non-Exempt employees will receive a $1.00 per hour shift differential for any hours worked between 10:00pm and 6:00am.
